Therapies & Nutrition

Develop high level resilience through changing what you can change.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy & Interpersonal Therapy

The aim of ACT is to develop psychological flexibility through mindful and acceptance-based strategies. Through discovery of your personal values this therapy helps you take another step forward into what really matters.

Interpersonal therapy can help in four main areas; with complicated grief including loss of role identity, conflict with others and difficulty with social interaction. It is a solution based therapy,  working  in the here and now while also considering the impacts of the past.

Motivational Interviewing and CBT

Motivational interviewing is a client centred approach, helping people with achieving behaviour changes. There is a focus on the stage of change a client is in and working  collaboratively to move through the stages towards action.

CBT is a talk therapy that is goal focused and usually involves some out of session work for the client.  This therapy helps address the ways in which thoughts and thought patterns impact behaviours and feelings. CBT works on how to go about changing thinking for change in the other areas, mainly emotions and behaviours.

Nutrition Education & Counselling

Food is essential and impacts us on many levels including physically, socially and emotionally.  Understand what healthy eating is for you and developing a positive relationship with food is key. Integrating the knowledge of optimal nutrition with a deep understanding of the therapies that help people to change behaviour is what makes Hope Integrated Health unique.

Why Hope Integrated Health?

Sharyn has helped thousands of  clients make changes to their eating patterns and food choices and this has had a substantial impact individual health and wellbeing. She has worked in clinical settings in multidisciplinary teams and understands the roles of other health professionals.   As a therapist,  Sharyn uses behaviour change therapies to help her clients make the changes they want to make.  Sharyn is a heath at every size (HAES) advocate and works with her clients to achieve greater body acceptance and to refocus clients on the more essential elements of  health and wellbeing.

As a counsellor,  an integrated approach to therapy underpins all sessions. This includes a trauma informed approach, an understanding and use of the therapeutic relationship, using a combination of cognitive, psychodynamic, interpersonal  and experiential therapies and a highly collaborative approach.

Joining Hope Integrated Health means therapy is available online and you are able to avoid traffic, parking and bad weather and stay in the comfort of your own home. There are two places,  the space you are in at home, which needs to be private and safe and the space between therapist and client. Sharyn, through her warmth and acceptance, creates a space that feels safe and inviting, so that you can feel comfortable to do the work that is required for change.

It takes courage to begin, but it is worth starting?  Small changes can make a big difference, I look forward to meeting you.   Get in touch today via phone or email.
